Key points about NIJ 07 HG2:

• Equivalent to Level IIIA: Under the new NIJ 0101.07 standard, “HG2” is the designation for what was previously considered Level IIIA.
• Testing rounds: To achieve HG2 rating, body armor must successfully stop a 124-grain 9mm round nose full metal jacket at 1470 feet per second and a 230-grain .44 Magnum jacketed hollow point at 1430 feet per second.
