ERT – Lightweight Level III+

The United Shield Lightweight Level III+ ERT ballistic shield is a mobile high protection shield which provides multi strike protection (5 strikes) from 7.62 x 39 Ball (Mild Steel Core). This shield is water jet cut curved with an ambidextrous tri grip handle. While the NIJ Level III rating is only tested to 7.62 x 51 NATO Ball (M80), United Shield International have built this shield to stop the additional round 7.62×39 MSC AK47, 5.56 x 45 55gr m193 and 5.56 x 45 62gr Federal Bonded. We designate this as a Level III+, as we meet the standard NIJ III and have added protection for an additional threat.

Levels of Protection

The shield is constructed from 100% UHMWPE and is rated to NIJ Level III+. This unofficial level covers the traditional NIJ Level III performance for 6 strikes of 7.62 x 51mm NATO Ball (US designation M80 Ball) and also the widely recognized threat from AK47 MSC 7.62 x 39mm round, 5.56 x 45 55gr M193 and 5.56 x 45 62gr Federal Bonded (LE223T3).

The shield is finished in black ballistic nylon with a hard wearing rubber edge protector trim.  ERT Trigrip handle is standard, but all handles are available on this shield.  Custom sizes also available upon request.
